Presidents of the 1920s
After the end of World War I and the passage of the Eighteenth Amendment, America entered the 1920s. The 1920s were an era of Republican leadership, nationalistic and fundamentalist movements, and changing social conventions. During the 1920s, three Republicans occupied the White House: Warren G. Harding, Calvin Coolidge, and Herbert Hoover. Electing Republican Presidents who favored business expansion rather than regulation, the American public enjoyed seemingly unlimited prosperity. However, Harding never showed any major skills, Coolidge was pretty neutral, and Hoover was overcome by circumstances that he didn't seem to understand nor could he control. Although, due to the prosperity through the 1920s there was no real opposition to the presidents of the 1920s until Hoover faced the great depression.
